The Tea Guide

THE EVERYDAY RITUAL

A more considered cup.

Tea offers many paths to a personal ritual. Begin with the instructions supplied with your tea, and make space to notice what you enjoy.

The vessel

A cup, a small pot or a gaiwan each creates a different experience. Choose a vessel you can use comfortably, with room for the leaves to open.

The water

Fresh drinking water is a starting point. Use the water temperature recommended for your actual tea and brewing method.

The leaves and the time

Use the leaf quantity and steeping time supplied with your tea. Adjust one variable at a time, and notice the aroma, texture and finish.

Keeping your tea

Follow the storage directions on the packaging. Close the container carefully between uses and keep the tea away from unwanted odors.

This guide is a general introduction. Product-specific instructions take precedence.
